Ethnic Cleansing Of Baluchis in Iran

Iran is home to a large variety of ethnic and religious minorities. And, like all oppressive occupiers, the Shiite Iranian regime has, for decades, been trying to force their culture and religion down the throat of its minorities.

Some minority populations such as the Azeris who are predominantly Shia and share much in common with the Fars (Persian) people are comfortable with this repression and subjugation. Others like the Sunni Kurds and we, the Baluch people of Iran refuse to compromise on our religion.

But like all oppressors the Iranian regime does not tolerate any opposition or voice of dissent and has resorted to many covert and underhand methods to wipe out our Islam and unique culture from Iran. Amongst the latest of these tactics is a relatively mild and covert form of ethnic cleansing.

Recently we heard a lot of news of the expulsion of illegal Afghanis and ‘Pakistani and Afghan Baluchis’ from Iran to neighboring Pakistan and Afghanistan. Anyone without an Iranian I.D card is subject to the capture and judgment by the Iranian government followed by a short imprisonment and expulsion from the country.

However, there are very few Baluchis today who possess such I.D cards and there are reports of large numbers of Iranian Balochs being expelled along with other foreign workers

Simultaneously Iran is working hard to ‘develop’ the province of Sistan va Baluchistan bringing in ethnically Persian peoples to settle on our lands on large government funded projects that hardly ever benefit our people and builds large military bases here, slowly replacing our culture and people with their own.

How is this any different from the settlement construction of Israel in the West Bank?  How is this any different from the ethnic cleansing and apartheid that the Palestinians face on their lands
